This is a great series. No joke, it just is. I started reading these books because my younger brother read them, and like me, absolutely loved them. There are five books in the series, the first one, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, has recently been made in to a movie. One thing about the movie before I go on. No, I have not seen it. Yes, I want to see it very badly, and yes, see the movie before reading the book, or else you will be disappointed, or so I have heard. Ok, on to the books now. These books follow Percy Jackson, son of Poseiden, through his adventures with friends Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, a Satyr. I will give you a summery of the first book, but I will leave the others to you because I don't want to give everything away. In the first book, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Percy finds out that he is the son of Poseiden after being taken to camp half-blood. Here he learns that all of the Greek Gods and Goddess are real and are still alive. He also learns about a prophecy that everyone thinks pertains to him, I won't tell you if it does or not. Oh, he also learns that Zeus' lightning bolt is missing, and the Delphi sends him, Annabeth, and Grover on a quest to find it and return it. This series brings back the magic of "what if" by making people wonder if the Gods still do exsit, and it is also a great way to learn a bit about mythology. This is a definite read, one that you won't be able to put down.
One more thing, the title is the link to buy the books, and I have it linking to a box set; however, you can buy them separately. Read on!
