Hey bloggasphere!!!!! I'm back and reading after a summer comprised mostly of school books, and I just wanted to update you on the book I am currently reading. The fourth book in the Nicolas Flamel series has come out, its called the Necromancer....only a couple pages in, but its good so far.
I also just got done reading the fourth book in the Immortals series, its called Dark Flame. Absolutely love the series, and recommend it to teens and above.
Another book that came out, awhile ago actually, is by the author of the Percy Jackson series....I know his name, but fear I will spell it wrong without the name in front of me:) It's about Egyptian Gods. Haven't got around to reading it, but my younger brother absolutely loves his books!
I'm so glad that I can read freely again! if anyone else has read anything good, post a comment about it!

Just a random thing that I wanted to share... I didn't finish reading that book for the scholarship, which means that I can read what I want again!!!! On the downside, I have no spare money to go to Borders with, but there is this wonderful thing called a library that I shall be heading to soon. At the moment, however, I am reading Chicken Soup for the College Soul. It's a nice book, even-though I'm not in college. Well that's that!

Definition of a Fantasy Novel

Okay, I found this interesting, and thought that I would share it with you all. According to http://www.findmeanauthor.com/fantasy_fiction_genre.htm, a Fantasy Novel is one that, "contains rudiments that are not realistic, such as magical powers, talking animals, etc. Fantasy is often characterized by a departure from the accepted rules by which individuals perceive the world around them; it represents that which is impossible (unexplained) and outside the parameters of our known, reality. Make-believe is what this genre is all about."
Even though I knew what makes a book fantasy, I found this to be interesting. This website also has a history of fantasy novels, there sub catagories, and more, so check it out.

The Faerie Path Series By: Frewin Jones

Did you ever believe in Faeries? Well if you did, The Faerie Path Series brings them to life. Anita Palmer never knew that there was anything different about her. She has a boyfriend, Evan, and a role in the upcoming school play, but when Evan takes her out on her birthday, she finds out that everything is not what it seems. Anita is actually Tania, princess of Faerie, who disappeared on her 16th birthday, a very long time ago. This series follows Tania as she decides between mortal and Faerie world, and the adventures that follow after. I have enjoyed this series so far, but the story line gets a bit boring after awhile with so many books. I have said before that I enjoy romance, and this series has a very nice relationship going on between Tania and Evan, or Edric as he is referred to in the Faerie world. Another thing that I enjoyed was the magic. For example, every one of the royal sisters has a certain power, and it was very interesting learning about them.
According to Frewin Jones' website, there are five books out, I have read all of them, and a sixth one in the works. Until next time, read on!

The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series

Everyone thought him dead, but actually, he was alive and thriving. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series by: Michael Scott follows the story of twins, Sophie and Josh Newman, as they meet Nicholas Flamel and his wife Perenell, and are wisked into a life of magic and fantasy. By the looks of the official website, this series will have six books, with three already out and the fourth one do to come out May 2010. I must say that I have enjoyed the first three books very much. Like Which and Wizard, the books jump from one twins view to the other, and occasionally to other characters views also. What I find very interesting about these books is that they are written by days, and one day can go through-out most of the book, and be jammed packed with action; I like action. Another thing that I really like is that the books do a great job in explaining all the magical aspects, like the auras and the powers and how they are both linked to each other. In the beginning of the book, Sophie and Josh are enjoying a normal life with summer jobs, but by the end of the book they have been ripped from normal life, and Sophie's powers have been awakened. Also, these books have the evil villains, but they have been around for thousands of years. Oh, did I mention that they are also on the clock, or the Flamels could die.... oh no! That's all I am going to say because like always, I don't want to give anything away.
Here's a side note, I just check imdb.com, and they claim that there may be a movie about the first book coming out in 2012.

You may be wondering why I haven't blogged about books that I have just read. This is because I am currently reading a book for a scholarship, and this plus school work is taking up the bulk of my time; however, as soon as I can, I will start reading a new fantasy book. Until then, you will just have to put up with me blogging about books I have already read.
If you were wondering, the book that I am reading for the scholarship is The Fountainhead By: Ayn Rand.
